Default How to make mp3 louder?

A reader has asked for solution on how to make an existing mp3 file louder. From my experience, I did realized inconsistancy in volume of mp3 files in my mp3 collection and it was troublesome to change the volume slider for each song with different loudness.

What I did to rectify this problem was simple. I altered the loudness of the mp3 file, since originally, the mp3 file’s amplitude was predetermined by the recording company. The software that I used, MP3Gain analyzed mp3 files to determine how loud they sound to human ear and then adjusted the mp3 files so that they have the same loudness without any quality loss.

* *1.
* * * Download MP3Gain (freeware) from sourceforge and install the software.
* *2.
* * * If you receive this error; “component ‘MSCOMCTL.OCX’ or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid” ; download this additional file and install it.
* *3.
* * * Run mp3 gain
* *4.
* * * Drag the file to mp3 gain window, click on track analysis, and adjust the volume of the mp3 file according to your preference.
* *5.
* * * Click Track Gain and play the modified file using your mp3 player.

Thanks for sharing this information.. I'll try to follow the steps you've indicated above.. I'm also having problem with the loud of my mp3 songs because some songs are very low and some were high.. I though my the speaker of my mp5 is the one who had a problem but my sister told me its the music that I've downloaded and I can't do anything about it anymore.. But now that you've shared this information I will tell my sister that she's wrong.. I just hope that I follow the steps correctly.. If I have a further questions or clarifications on how to used it, I'll just PM you..

Honestly, you could make an MP3 file louder by "increasing the volume."
If you are telling about inconsistencies, all music files that you download from the internet have different bitrate. A bitrate identifies the quality of sound the music file can make. The higher the bitrate, the greater the quality. But greater quality means additional storage space.

For example, Music1 have a bitrate of 382kbps and is nearly 5mb in size, while music2 is only 125kbps and is only less than 1mb. Which do you think had better quality? It's music1. The sound is very crisp.
